Hi everyone. I’m going camping for a couple of weeks, so if you don’t hear from me, it’s just that I’m high up in the Rocky Mountains with no cell or internet! I was hoping to get a build out before I left, but there’s still a bit more to be done yet. Mostly just tedious animations, and I need to do a bit of work on encouraging creatures to mate, but I’ll soon be able to get it out to you.
It’s getting hard to test, now, because I can’t sit around for days wondering whether someone is ever going to get pregnant or die from their injuries. So, when this next build goes out and we have a real wild population of creatures, I’ll be relying on you to take good notes!
Anyway, more news when I get back.
– Steve
Enjoy the camping trip!
Have a good trip!
i know that pain of hoping they will breed… needed over a year to figure out why my Arvicanthis niloticus did not breed… now they breed like crazy… they just wanted it a bit warmer. Unlike the normal rattus norvegicus domesticus i had years ago. They gave birth even in the deepest winter, with freezing water. It is nearly like the desert dwelling ones like it hot while the ones with norway in the name don’t care at all….
with ducks it is worse, either they are egglaying monsters – or they might(!) give you 10 eggs a year. Specially the wild species…. and if she decides to lay the eggs in november, you better open up your house instead of your pen. Or the ducklings have a really hard time…
Striking a natural balance between to many children and none seems nearly impossible. Nature solves it with predators and famine…
oh and have a nice camping trip.
Have a nice trip Steve 🙂
Glad you are spending some time in the green. It’s the only way to truly disconnect from the madness of human society. Please fill us in when you get back. Were you alone or with friends? Any interesting things happen? Anything unique that you observed?
