Hi everybody. Things have gone a bit pear-shaoed for me lately and I’m currently in hospital, preparing for open-heart surgery. I’m feeling fine, on the whole – I ran up a mountain on Sunday. But apparently things weren’t so great internally, so I need my coronary arteries fixing up. The op is scheduled to happen on Monday (9th?). I’ll let you know how it goes when I can.
As you can probably guess, I’ve been under a LOT of stress, this past few years. If not this past few decades. Tons of hard work, no income, really complex challenges to solve. When I’ve recovered from having the op, I’m going to have to find a less stressful way to do this project. But it’s my life’s work, I have some important things to say to the world,, and I’ll finish it if it kills me! Metaphorically speaking, obviously.
So, still no new build. Sorry. Unity has caused me a fair amount of grief lately, but the last straw was when I bought a load of assets that I thought would pretty up the3D world very nicely, only to find that they’d been made out of literally millions of triangles per object. I really didn’t need that! Who needs 5,000 polys to make a simple block of wood?!?!? Have they never heard of normal maps??? (Calm down, Stephen; calm down…)
Anyway, wish me luck on Monday. I love you all. I’ll be back up and running eventually. Sorry if I’ve mis-spelled things – I’m not in the office!
